Mind-affecting magic and abilities produce "mind effects." The Enchantment and Illusion schools are well known for using mind-affecting attacks. Spells and abilities of this category do not damage the target; rather, they serve to muddle or confuse it, control it, and even alter the target's mood or attitude.
