The round is the base unit of time in the game. A round is the amount of time in which a character can perform all of their attacks, cast a spell, or perform a combination of other actions. One round is six seconds long. There are ten rounds in one turn, so one turn is 60 seconds. On Layonara there are four turns in one game hour (40 rounds.) The conversion from turns to rounds is where time is accelerated in the game world. In game time and real time a round is 6 seconds, but there are only four real life minutes in an hour. There are still 24 game hours in a game day. Therefore one game day lasts 96 real minutes (or, one hour and 36 minutes.)

Gametime to Gametime Conversions:

  • Conversions One Step Apart:
    • 1 turn = 10 rounds
    • 1 hour = 4 turns
    • 1 day = 24 hours
  • Conversions Between Non-Adjacent Units
    • 1 day = 96 turns
    • 1 day = 960 rounds
    • 1 hour = 40 rounds

Gametime to Realtime Conversions:
(Gametime units are on the left, realtime units are on the right.)

  • 1 round = 6 seconds
  • 1 turn = 1 minute
  • 1 hour = 15 minutes
  • 1 day = 6 hours
  • 1 week = 42 hours
  • 1 month = 6 days, 20 hours
  • 1 year = 84 days
