The self tell is very similar to the tell, but is only visible to the player sending it. Self tells are created by using the command "=c" at the beginning of the text, followed by a space and then the command or check one wishes to use. Their usefulness is due to their ability to allow players to roll dice and use commands without cluttering up the chat window in game, which helps to preserve immersion. For example, instead of a player typing "<save>" in talk, party or whisper mode they can use the self tell command (either through "=c save") to preserve their character before logging off.

Self tells can also be used in conjunction with language ears to speak in racial or special languages by using the =l command
