Spine Straits

A turbulent stretch of water that runs between Molten Island and Belinara, the Spine Straits are said by some to be home of a enormous sea serpent. Sailors also say that if you can see the spine breaking the surface of the water, you are safe, but if you can't then you should beware, for it is then that, from the depths of the ocean, the sea will strike and drag any vessel it can to its underwater lair.

The warm waters of the straits also harbor some of the most bizarre creatures to be found on Layonara. Giant crabs, giant squid and were-creatures of the deep are all rumored to have flourished in the magma heated waters.
