A large wooden palisade that is slowly being replaced by a stone wall and guard towers stands protecting the city on the land side. The harbor is held under watch by two tall towers that serve as lighthouses in case of bad weather.
The town guard consists of 650 men; although, the military presence here is sparse as the regions of Yalian, Tyr-song, and Western Gate share the guard of a single legion (a thousand men) that can arrive at the gates in a few hours.
