Creedo: Government and Politics

Ruled by a Sitchu in the name of the Mido, Creedo has a long history of mostly competent leaders, given the necessities of port town life and the need for a sharp mind to regulate trade. Normally the Sitchu makes decisions with a council that includes members of the shipping companies that use the port regularly. The current Sitchu, is Lawrence Hammet, who rules effectively in conjunction with his wife Sheila.

The council, called the Port Circle (for no other reason than the table they meet at is circular) has sixteen members. The head, Linwood Greyson, runs an up and coming shipping captain with six ships under his command. Local decisions are debated in the Circle but Sitchu Hammet has the final decision. Each council member is by definition a judge, and arbitration as well as sentencing is carried out by each council member in rotation. Anything that might affect the kingdom is communicated to Bilkan Castle and decisions are made there.
