All sorts of creatures both natural and fey have danced, swum, played, and lived around the edges of this lake for centuries. When the water is disturbed, it quickly returns to its unnatural calm, flat surface. In fact, the satyr young and fey creatures often have competitions to see who can cause ripples to stay in the lake the longest.

Even when the wind blows across the surface of the lake it rarely causes more than a light ripple.

Imbibing water from the Lake of Serenity brings on a feeling of calm that has never been explained. The satyrs merely accept the water's properties and rarely search for deeper explanation. However, one scholar among them did suggest it might have something to do with a particular species of plant that grew naturally around the lake'the same plant that the pixies tend to use when they make their sleep unguents for their arrows.
