Chief Zurzis of the Black Claw Clan

An intelligent najashanian, Zurzis rules with guile and is a better strategist than most members of his clan. While not the strongest warrior in the clan, he assumed command by using his powers of coercion and manipulation. Realizing that his position could be overthrown at anytime by direct challenge, he accepted the offer of Hozrik, one of the few remaining Pit creatures, as his personal bodyguard. Hozrik's offer was a welcome one, and for the last few decades Zurzis has begun to make plans to assimilate other najashanian clans into his own, fairly secure in his dominance of his own clan.

Hozrik

Hozrik is a formidable creature, and may be the sole remaining minion of Riz'tik'nordek left alive after Grovewarden Thunderhoof's slaughter. When his master fell, he offered his services to Zurzis as a bodyguard, biding his time and hoping to eventually be able to return to the Pit from which he came. Though his initial offer to Zurzis was for physical protection, over the years Zurzis has also begun to consult Hozrik for occasional advice, and Hozrik now also serves in an advisory capacity to the najashanian chief.

Hozrik looks very much like a najashanian; he has a massively large cobra-like head with a hood that frames his face and curves down to his shoulders. Long fangs that protrude downwards and Hozrik's venomous amber stare make every najashanian think twice before challenging Zurzis.
