Shallow Woods: History and Rumors

These woods are frequently traveled by the various brownies and fey creatures that live around Axis Lake. This area is open and light and always full of butterflies of all sizes. It is also not uncommon to see large griffons hunting the deer that run in large herds through the area.

As the woods progress further south they spread out even more and the trees grow more and more stunted and scraggly. Plants struggle to grow and the ground contains more moisture. This heralds the woods giving way to the Bitter Valley.

It is often the case that large predators from both the Forest of Cover or the Bitter Valley stalk creatures in the Shallow Woods. Rare is the time that the najashanian communities within the Bitter Valley strike into the forest but it has on occasion been known to happen.
