Swamp of Storms

The Swamp of Storms is a saltwater swamp, in contrast to the Swamp of Reawakening to the south. The part of the swamp closest to the sea is flooded twice a day because of the tides. Tidal creeks are surrounded by Saltweed Blades, a short grass that has adapted to the salt water. 

The central part of the swamp is only flooded during heavy storms or spring tides. Most of this area is also covered by grass, but it's taller, reaching up to the middle of an average sized human.

Closer towards the foothills of Cyclops Peak foothills, the land doesn't get flooded during spring tides, but it is still salty as the soil soaks up the salt water. Several species of trees have adapted to this soil. The swamp is home to a few herbs and plants that are hardly found anywhere else on Layonara. However, those who go and gather them need to watch out not to get cut by the sharp leaves of the Saltweed Blades.

Near the southeastern tip of the peninsula the ruins of an abandoned tower rise into the sky.
