Castle Succession: Government and Politics

Castle Succession is the seat of power for the Lef'Chamet family and has lushly appointed apartments for the counts and countesses and their families. In theory, the law of the castle is the law of the land. In practice, those who have the gold make the rules'and break them. Servants speak of all manner of shenanigans going on behind closed doors around the place, a number of them being felonies of the highest order. But, as they say, who watches the watchmen?

In addition to the kingdom laws, the laws of each individual lieges are in effect in those living spaces that are occupied by the count and/or countess of that liegess. A visitor should learn the layout and be aware of who they may be spitting in front of.

As the current liege lord and lady are also the count and countess of two of the liegesses, one of the apartments has been given to the representative of Rael, Camerston Threaser. Given the more lax way of life by comparison to Lord Rael's city, Camerston has graciously accepted a post as advisor of foreign affairs and does not appear to be anxious to leave the castle anytime soon.
