Horeshoe Lake: History and Rumors

So named due to its vague similarity to a horseshoe, this lake has long been a vital resource. The lake has long provided food and water for the centaur clans of the southern plains, and also supports many of the creatures that dwell beyond the dark, twisted willow trees on its northern banks.

The line of willows whose dark, drooping tendrils brush the northern edge of the lake mark the edge of the Reptile Woods. Any creature pausing at the southern edges of the lake might feel the urge to gaze across the wide expanse of lily-covered waters to the dark northern shores, wondering if they are being watched by the denizens that live within. There is a tense atmosphere around the lake, and some have remarked that there is a sense of strained anticipation often felt in the area, as if the whole region was waiting for something that might happen at any moment.

Several clans of pixies have recently moved back to the southern areas of Horseshoe Lake and have begun to establish homes in that location.
