Grannoch: Temples: Difference between revisions

There are very few actual structures dedicated to the Mother of Giants. A small, open-air structure can be found up in the Brechs. In the [[Grand]] Mountains on [[Belinara]] exists a structure of twelve concentric rings of lava dug into the basalt. Fed from below, they never overflow or run dry. Blaze giants worshiping Grannoch often use this as a place of worship; although, it is not of giant make.

Built near the top of [[Mount Thil]], where the legends say Grannoch gave birth to the giants, this series of four buildings all face a central statue of Grannoch. Each structure is designed to hold several dozen giants and is dedicated to an element. The stonework and decorations of this holy spot rival that of the dwarves. In the last few hundred years, maintenance of this difficult-to-reach place has fallen and the complex is badly in need of repair. The temples to air and water are partially collapsed.

One temple recently re-discovered by a clan high in the [[Thunder Peaks]] is massive even on a giant scale and hewn from the rock of the mountain and buried deep within. The temple's main altar are four kneeling giant forms [[resting]] axes on the ground facing each other. Each form represents a different elemental aspect of Grannoch. Further back in the caves, are crypts containing what is believed to be some of the remains of [[The Four]]. The last skeleton found was clutching the Book of the Four. Maglikan has stated she believes this was [[Levka]]. Parts of this cave system have yet to be explored because they dip perilously close to [[The Deep]].
