Fort Morllass is built on a small peninsula, surrounded by dunes and bluffs that share some of the rusty red with the Redlands to the north. There are no trees, only scrub and stands of reeds. The fort, built of imported [[stone]] and decorated in an ornate fashion more at home in the richest parts of [[Katherian]], looks like a majestic dowager at a peasant wedding.

Animals do not approach this place. There are no tiny prints of mice, no marks from crabs, not even bird droppings on the castle stone. Aside from the ocean breezes and the normally gentle sloshing of the salty water, there is no sound. There is a constant acrid-sweet smell, however, as if several very large sea creatures had washed to shore and begun to decay. The beaches are inevitably clear though when this smell is strongest.
