All of the approaches to the few visible beaches around Caesin are treacherous, and the rest of the island's coastline resembles that of most of the other islands in the chain, with high cliffs climbing out of the dangerous waters below. There is no shortage of reefs and submerged rocks waiting to tear the hull of any ship brave or stupid enough to enter the region. Those beaches that are visible appear uninviting and desolate'little more than a stretch of sand penned between the unforgiving sea and a low stretch of sharp cliffs. Atop those cliffs spreads a vast forest of huge ancient trees, visible enough to tempt shipbuilders from over the years from Fort Vehl to mount expeditions with the intention to cut down their mighty boughs.
