Aragen: Clergy Attire

Clerics of Aragen are scholars; they are recorders of fact and observers not activists. They wear light, common-colored clothing and often carry packs filled with scribing materials. The only true distinction that sets them apart visibly from the common man is the tattooing on their forearm of Aragen's holy symbol. By some strange coincidence, traveling clerics tend to select clothing in the browns and tans of the working class. Those whose post is in the temples or libraries tend to dress in the medium browns and blues of Aragen's fabled attire.

Unlike many religions of the world, there are no battle clerics of Aragen. No cleric of Aragen puts forth their views into the world, they only strive to remain objective and collect information for the church and for Aragen. As such, no cleric of Aragen wears plate mail. It is not a written rule among the clergy, but the practice is shunned because it implies action over observation. Instead these clergy wear cloth, and they only go so far as to wear leather or hides when the weather or terrain is particularly rough.

Amongst their things, traveling clerics of Aragen do not carry weapons of attack. Some, usually of farmer stock, carry slings to catch their own food. Many, in their later years, carry a walking staff.
