Ash Woods: History and Rumors

Like the Silver Grove, these woods are alive with fey magic. Perhaps it is this magic that is responsible for the many creatures who dwell in this forest abiding in such peaceful coexistence. The local inhabitants range from large bears to cougars to raccoons and other such animals. Some centaurs will hunt animals within the forest, but out of respect they rarely stay very long and only take what they need. Stories passed down from one generation of centaurs to the next tell of times past when centaurs have overstayed their welcome or taken too much from the woods and the creatures of the woods and even the trees were said to have turned against them. Whether or not these stories are true, their lessons are passed down to each new generation.

Though the centaurs avoid the woods, the liontaurs are known to frequent this region. It is not unusual to see groups of liontaurs hunting or resting among the tall ash trees, and such sights are becoming even more common as the liontaurs slowly regain their strength and replenish their numbers now that the war with the najashanians has ended.
