Boyer's Fort: History and Rumors

Boyer's Fort was founded by Vauqenth Arasstai in 338, 4 years after the end of the human-elf wars that had raged for nearly 200 years. Vauqenth was a veteran of these wars and although he had fought the elves for many years, he bore them no ill will. In fact, he was glad that the wars had ended. He had seen enough of war to dislike the terrible waste of life and effort that war required; yet, he learned of the necessity of discipline and the practicality of treating others, even enemies, with honor and respect.

Vauqenth's most important concern as he directed the construction of Boyer's Fort was its security. Consequently, the city was well organized and with extensive defenses in place. Over the years, as the city expanded beyond the boundaries of that first wall that now defends the inner city, it was forced to deviate from Vauqenth's original plans and became less organized. Still, each high boyer managed to keep things relatively well controlled, and a second wall was built to defend the whole of the city.
