Prayers

Grannoch is generally prayed to at dawn and at dusk. For example, praying to a fire or a bowl of water with hands touching the ground or with arms extended upwards to the sky. She is also invoked when strength or aid is needed, when going into battle, or when child labor is difficult, for instance. When praying to Grannoch, clerics try to use words related to elements in their prayers.

A prayer of a cleric before going into battle: "Oh Grannoch, shaper of stone, make me strong as the bedrock and my foes tremble before me as if you were quaking the earth."

A cleric praying to give a mother strength during a particularly difficult childbirth: "Mother of Giants, hear my plea, please assist your daughter in bringing another one of your children into the world. Make this birth as easy as the effortless flow of a mountain stream."

Holy Days

The first day of spring is celebrated as the both the Birth of Giantkind and the birth of all giants since the previous year. The faithful open their homes and communities to clan and friends'providing food, drink, and camaraderie. It is customary to travel in small groups from clan to clan and even tribe to tribe (if they are friendly and close enough). The evening is spent in feast culminating in a prayer to the Mother of Giants led by a shaman.

A spontaneous show of worship is reserved for natural events. A massive snow storm, a tornado, a wind storm that rattles homes and tears down trees, or a volcanic eruption is cause to be reminded of the power of the Mother of Giants. Followers will generally spend the time praying to the untamed side of their goddess usually for strength to face the coming months.
