Hilm Protectorate: Politics

As an entity, the Protectorate is relatively new and is still experiencing a level of political instability due to the many and varied parties involved in creating the territory. Envoys from Robber Barons and other self claimed rulers are frequently received as varied powers try to claim land while swearing service to Alexander. Even some of the less savoury races such as orcs and goblins have sent representatives to Alexander to offer support in destroying Bloodstone outposts. Few such agreements have been made to date.

This political instability has allowed for slavers to ply their trade in the protectorate virtually without opposition. The lack of concrete laws also facilitates the slave trade.
