The government structure is somewhat in shambles with the withdrawal of Milara's troops in the assistance of maintaining order and collecting government taxes. As such the coffers of the state dwindled in the Dark Ages and have not yet recovered. Government agents concentrate their bureaucratic efforts primarily in the larger settlements and the capital, taxing imports and exports.

Rural outposts are expected to submit their taxes to the crown twice yearly at the planting and harvest festivals. There are no formal land divisions for taxation purposes and no census of the population has ever officially been undertaken. Tax collecting for the crown is a dangerous business as the tax collectors are subject to raids by citizens and monstrous race alike.

Dwarven government is handled internally by their clan structure. With the absence of a king, the clan council rules in his stead , a panel of Vorax, Dorand and one other elected representative acting as the liaison with the current government. Voraxian battle cleric Bertha Stoneforge is the spokeswoman for the dwarven cause at this time.
