Traveller's Last Hope is named after the inn that was built on the hill around the year 1000, before the founding of Bilkan by Brax Strongheart. A pair of halflings recognized the foothills of the Spine Mountains to be a good location for an inn, as it was the last stop for the traders of northern Tilmar when travelling to the south.

With a typical halfing sense of humor they dubbed their inn the Traveller's Last Hope. The inn was a big success, and within years they had opened up a sister inn on the other side of the mountains called Wayfarer's Final Haven.

Traveller's Last Hope swiftly fell, its gates battered, its walls breached by the onslaught of the invading army. Most town buildings were razed to the ground except for the original inn, and the sentry tower in the middle of the town.

Wayfarer's Final Haven fared much worse, it defiantly tried to stand against the invading army, but the entire town was obliterated by foul magic, all that remains is a blackened land where nothing grows...
