Hailed as a marvel across the island, the Grove of Slumber rose after the efforts of the druid Brisbane to heal the damage caused to the Swamp of Reawakening after the influence of Al'Noth's Tempest. After securing and examining the tainted water that was pouring into the swamp due to the effects of the Al'Noth's Tempest's ritual, she was able to create a cure for this, and she performed a counter ritual which cleansed the land. It was not until many months later that the true effect of her ritual was noticed. When they returned to the site, they discovered the grove. Surrounded on all sides by the murky swamp, the grove had somehow flourished rapidly. Great trees and lush vegetation had sprung up with startling speed, and already life had come to make it its home. A small break in the perpetual dark clouds that covered the swamp allowed for sunlight to filter through into the grove, and whole new species of plants and animal life came to grow here. Of particular note is the sloth bear, not found anywhere else in Layonara, this bear has the amazing ability of being able to stand, even run, on only two legs. Its brute strength is matched only by its incredible gentleness. It is seldom seen outside the grove.

The grove is seen as a site sacred to nature, and druids and nature lovers from all deities often make the pilgrimage here to pray or rest on the cool grass and marvel at its creation. The mido himself has made a few visits to the grove; at one point, even holding a grand sermon there.
