Audira: Government and Politics

Audira answers to the jnaar. There is one person selected to represent the jnaar between visits, and he or she is called the bmiiar. This will usually be a family member of the jnaar's and must know the laws of Sedera as closely as the ruler does because of the visibility of the city. The bmiiar can appoint advisors, and usually does, from among the townsfolk. No royalty or rank or exceptional wealth is required for an advisory post.

The current bmiiar is Etwana Rami, and she is the first cousin to the jnaar. Her advisors include a Rofirein midwife, two of the town's most prosperous shipping magnates, and (unknown to most) a follower of Branderback who is her contact to the inevitable thieves and underground guilds of the city.
