Elf
Elves are generally shorter than the average human. However, certain elves, particularly those that have distanced themselves from the forest homes of old, are just as tall as a normal human. Some apparently contrasting details about elves are that they are slim in composure, yet possess strong arms and legs; they have fine features, yet are resolute and defiant; they are seemingly devoid of qualms, yet protective of their origins and environment. Elves indeed prove to be a race difficult to understand.
Males and females have a similar height. However, males have slightly more pronounced noses, and their ears are significantly smaller than female ears. Male ears being slim and pointed, reaching just a little over 2 inches (2.3 inches/6 centimeters), while female ears reach almost 4 inches (3.9 inches/10 centimeters) almost drooping at their edges.
Long hair is also a standard in the race, ranging from the wildest of manes to the best kept and groomed. Elves rarely cut their hair. The way it is kept depends strongly on their family origins: twirled tails full of magical symbolism for the active mages with the more nature-oriented families decorating their hairs with twigs and flowers. This had led to the common belief that they are of different races'a belief that is incorrect.
Their eyes are slanted, possibly due to the constant guarding of their borders in the forest, while observing through leaves and covers or squinting through the night. Male faces are more elongated and refined, whereas female ones are more rounded. Apart from their ears, this is one of the few characteristics that differentiate between the genders of this almost androgynous race.
Firm and muscled arms, heavily trained in the arts of archery, are a common sight amongst elves. Furthermore, their lives amongst the trees have granted them strong supporting legs that allow them to climb with ease. Their muscles never appear bulging; they are simply well formed.
Their frames are somewhat ethereal, giving those who see them move in the forests at night the impression of seeing shadows. This less than robust appearance is only a distraction of where their true ability lies.
