Don't cry for our brothers and sisters,

Have faith in their souls mister.
Beloved Father cares for their souls,
Listen carefully when the bell tolls.
Rejoice when the tone peals,
Our clansmen enjoy heroes' meals.
Upon the table feast our kin,
not a sad tone heard above the din.

 'urrurh Naazdah uogh Drawnar Krindal,
as spoken at Brunger Rhugal's wake
Translated by Dram Brill, Aragen Priest

Drawnar Krindal

Drawnar Krindal is the highest ranking Voraxian cleric in Rhugal's Realm. His prayers and litanies are often heard at wakes for fallen warriors. He never denies a request for personal blessings and spends much of his time traveling in order to fulfill that obligation. He also fills the roll of Lorekeeper of the Realm and is one of the very few scholars on the island.

In addition to these responsibilities, Drawnar presides over what formal education exists in the realm. He was asked to watch over the education of the dwarves of Rhugal's Realm by Brunger himself, when the kingdom was established in Metal. Drawnar was charged by Brunger to keep the battlefields full of thinking soldiers, and he takes the charge seriously. In 1337, Brunger, with the help of Drawnar's writing, proclaimed an edict: all warriors of Rhugal's Realm would pass a scholarly test before being released from the Academy. This test included only pertinent dwarven history--mainly the history of Rhugal's Realm but also important points from outside of the kingdom. Drawnar believes it is important that the dwarven soldiers do not forget where they came from, that the essence of who they are stems from their origins. To forget would be to lose a part of their soul.

Drawnar's teaching duties also included the education of Krail Rhugal, who grew up with Drawnar as a tutor. Once Krail realized that the despicable Pyrtechon creatures were resorting to such deplorable tactics as assassination, Krail did not want Drawnar to travel without a protective escort. Therefore, shortly after the details of Brunger's death became public, Drawnar became a protected official and given the official position of 'urrurh Naazdah uogh.

Drawnar is a mild-tempered dwarf. His slate-brown hair, eyes, and skin tone result in an unremarkable looking dwarf, an the average observer might look right past him. However, Drawnar's wisdom and understanding of the dwarven people become apparent from the first moment one hears him speak. A beloved figure within the kingdom, Drawnar is closest thing to an idol or periapt against defeat that the kingdom has.

Ched Bengral

Ched Bengral is the current Naazdah uogh over Thoraz, and is second cousin to Krail. With coal-black hair and brown eyes, this hardened warrior is steadfast in all things, including his ways. It is joked among his subordinates that he has not been promoted to Naazdah uogh of Metal or to Naazdah Zhazhaurh because he is obsessed with his position of Naazdah uogh of Thoraz. The truth, of course, is nothing of the sort. Ched is content with his position and not likely to move up in the ranks. He is in touch with his abilities and is aware that he, at least at the moment, would be unable to fill such a position as Naazdah Zhazhaurh. He would not be able to lead troops into trouble, for he lacks leadership skills. He is a staunch supporter of Krail, but more because Krail is family than because he believes in the methods and tactics Krail employs. Ched is privy to the reason Krail moved the capital to Thoraz; indeed, it was Ched's recommendation that caused the change. Though viewed as rigid and crass, Ched is well respected for his achievements in the army including the defense of Thoraz.

Ched is a Po'anw ug Nurga (wed or married) dwarf and has sired four strong warriors who are now in the Academy of Thoraz. His spouse, a devout follower of Vorax, currently holds the position of Ziazrhwaazr (captain) over the First Forward Unit.
