Lawrence Hammet

A halfling that has been in charge since the end of the occupation in 1411. After the city was abandoned to its fate, Lawrence and his wife Sheila were discovered to have been hiding as many of the orphaned children (of all races) that they could smuggle into the extensive cellars under their ruined home. As a young merchant before Bloodstone burned his business to ashes, his initiative and determination in the aftermath buoyed the spirits enough that his leadership became assumed. He was formally made Sitchu in 1415. Although she does not hold a title, Sheila is often affectionately called "Sitchi" by the people. Lawrence is of average height and stout, and enjoys horticulture, a passion he shares with his wife. His hair is deep brown as are his eyes and he tends to rest his hands on his well-fed belly when he thinks. He is a thinker but not afraid to act quickly if the situation demands it, and has an unflappable temper. He is still called tokaya (father) by many of those who hid in his care while the city burned and screamed around them.

Sheila Hammet

Fair of skin and hair, Sheila is slender as a whippet and moves with restless energy, a counterpoint to her slower-moving husband. She has a sharp mind but a gentle manner and is called either Sitchi or sometimes reidou (mother) by the townfolk. There are many who think this mother of five makes as many decisions as her husband does, and a few who know they're right.

Linwood Greyson

This slender blonde human hails from North Point in the Boyer Kingdom and is still young at twenty-five. His ambition is aided by his youth, but so far he has shown wisdom beyond his years in gathering up a small fleet of cargo ships to bring in needed supplies and hasten the recovery of the island as well as Corsain. Much like Lawrence Hammet he has a steady temperament and a gift for communication, but unlike Lawrence he also has an aptitude for the art of making deals. There are a number of people who think he will be the next Sitchu when Lawrence retires -for these reasons and for Khalina Avestos, also because Lawrence has figured out what is really going on with the Telish Throne and subtly made his knowledge known to her.

Techu Kiyomi Tzau

At sixty-three years old, Techu Tzau (the only name she allows anyone to call her) is a very short human with iron grey hair and weathered brown eyes. As she runs two guards, she is two people; to the town guard, a firm but fair woman who can be kind when the situation calls for it, and The Techu to the Town Guard, whom she drills in the arena when Shinball games are not being held. While no longer in her prime, very few of her recruits and guards would take liberties -the saying "age and treachery overcome youth and enthusiasm" has never been more apt than when applied to this lady. Techu Tzau has been married twice, with her second husband still alive, and has one daughter who is already training to take her place as the leader of the town's defenses.

Meran Merandar

A tall human, well-built to the point of becoming overly round in the middle, and very comfortable with his position in life -that's Meran. He is considered a handsome man, with ash colored eyes and blonde hair, and his time around Bilkan Castle have trained him well for social niceties. He is happy to use those charms to bed women left and right, eat well, and wake late -but not to inspire his Navy toward the kind of competence that might survive an attack. The townfolk tolerate him, but most of the Navy dislikes him. How he came to be in charge is up for debate, and for once even the rumor mongers can only throw up their hands and shrug. He is not married, and has at least three children out of wedlock that he does not acknowledge.

Joral Swinson

This short dwarf is an odd sight on board, one of the few dwarven sailors seen around Tilmar. He does not waste time on praise or ego stroking, and the best compliment that could be hoped for would be a short utterance of "good"?. For most of the Creedo Navy now, that single word means more than an entire sentence from Meran Merandar.

Nando

This black-haired halfling is never seen in anything but his black and grey leathers, moves like a lynx, and is one of the best bowmen in town. He runs the Inn of the Dodgy Path and has long insisted he's a ranger -which his skills with a short bow and his two rabidly loyal pet wolfhounds support. He is unmarried, mainly because Zacci refuses to go out with him (his weakness for the diva of shop and stage is well-known). Thirty-three years ago, Nando's mother came for a visit and revealed his true name in front of a number of patrons. However, travelers to the Inn are strongly advised to NOT call him Fernando, no matter what the townsfolk might tell them, and especially not a towns-person wearing harlequin patterns anywhere on their clothes.

Zacci

In addition to her notable shop and her chaotic personality, Zacci has two other areas of notoriety. First is the longstanding whisper that she is able to walk the pits and has business contacts in pit called Mozard. This little tidbit she will neither substantiate nor deny, but only flashes her most coquettish smile before changing the subject. The second question that surrounds Zacci is her age. As a halfling her lifespan might top three hundred years but not by much. Yet there are elves who swear that they remember the lady from well before the second burning of the city. Zacci won't dignify this with anything more than a scoff. She insists that she's a youthful two hundred and anyone who says otherwise is merely jealous of her looks, not that she doesn't understand, the poor dears; anyone would be.
